Manchester Region History
Review
ISSN: 0952-4320
This journal is the principal publication of the MCRH

Volume 21 (Business in the North West) is now available
Published continuously since 1987, the journal has established itself as the region's leading local history magazine with its wide range of articles covering all aspects of the region's history. The journal is now published every June.
The MRHR has many distinctive features. Its blend of the visual and the textual has been a noted characteristic, and has contributed towards its wide appeal amongst all backgrounds, academic and non-specialist.
However, the journal also provides a community service function, offering guides for libraries, societies and libraries. It also offers a comprehensive annual bibliography of books and articles concerned with the history of the region, as well as reviews of books and other local history Publications, and introductions to the use of source materials for the amateur and professional historian. With these features, the journal is a major forum for contributions and information, and essential reading for the latest books, research and developments in the region.
Its role as a research journal is to present new thinking. This is achieved by contributions from a mixture of senior and new scholars as well as writers drawn from libraries, museums and local society networks. Many of its research articles are based on empirical research.
